This Acai Bowl is ‘chock-full’ of natural, mood-boosting superfoods to help not only give you energy, but also provides the body and brain with the much-needed nutrients they require to produce healthy ‘happy’ hormones and neurotransmitters.
The addition of MSM and collagen powders gives an added boost to enhance hair, skin, teeth and nails. They are great for reducing wrinkles, keeping joints strong and flexible, supporting strong bones, and increasing skin hydration.
Note: Leave out MSM powder if you are allergic or sensitive to sulphur.
It is refreshingly delicious as a smoothie, as an Acai Bowl meal like the pic above, or as dessert (like ice-cream) when frozen. See pic opposite.
Acai is a purple berry sourced from Brazil and is classed as a ‘superfood’ due to its unique nutrient rich components that have a multitude of health benefits.
(They are sold as a frozen fruit purée, dried powder or pressed juice, due to their short shelf-life)
INGREDIENTS (FOR THE PIC ABOVE)
60g Frozen pineapple
100g Frozen mango
150g Frozen banana
1/3 cup Organic Coconut Yoghurt
1 teaspoon Flaxseed meal
1/2 teaspoon MSM Powder
1 package of Frozen Acai Berry
1 teaspoon Collagen Powder
2/3-1 cup Coconut Water or for an even creamier option coconut milk
In the pic above we used:

Place all ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth.
If you choose to make the ice-cream option, omit the coconut water and replace with another 2 cups of coconut yoghurt or greek yoghurt. Place mixture into container after blitzing and freeze. Scoop as required.
For the Frozen “Ice cream” version above. I have garnished with strawberries, blueberries, bananas, toasted coconut flakes, burgil, granola and mint.
